THOMAS A. "TOM" PIATTI

CW5 Thomas A. Piatti, U. S. Army Retired, was born in Jersey City, NJ, in 1951.  In January 1972, Tom was drafted in the Army and his first assignment was with the 142d Transportation Company, DaNang, Vietnam. After assignments at Fort Meade, MD, and ODCSPER The Pentagon, he was appointed as a Warrant Officer, Adjutant Generals Corp, in February 1980.

 

Over his 30 year Army career Tom has had assignments in the US, Germany and Korea.  His final assignment as a CW5 in 2002 was as Personnel Officer for soldiers serving in the Army Attaché Program in 127 countries.  During his career he was awarded two Legions of Merit, six Meritorious Services Medals, Air Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals and many other service and campaign decorations. 

 

Tom joined the USAWOA in 1980.  He served as Secretary and Treasurer Frankfurt Silver Chapter; Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President Fort Meade Chapter; National Vice President, National President and Past National President, USAWOA; Director, Secretary, and Chief Administrative Officer, Warrant Officers Heritage Foundation (2003-present)

 

Tom and his wife Joyce live in Severn, MD.  They have two children; their five grandchildren include a set of twins.  Presently, he is Operations Manager, Annapolis Junction Office, Concurrent Technologies Corporation.   His hobby is restoring 1960’s Volvo P1800 series coupes.
